Thought of the day and the question of the day

First, the question of the day, after lunch I was drinking a cup of coke from a local pizza place and one of my kids asked me, "Mr. Boxer, what are you drinking? Is that coke, sprite or Bud Life?" I don't drink Anheuser Busch products, that is just piss water.

Second, the thought of the day, which was found on a Starbucks cup.
You can learn a lot more from listening than you can from talking. Find someone with whom you don't agree in the slightest and ask them to explain themselves at length. Then take a seat, shut your mouth, and don't argue back. It's physically impossible to listen with your mouth open.

I just looked up the book that John Moe had written which I had never heard of and now I really want to read it.

I like how he called it Bud Life. I was telling ym students this year that one theory for why humans started to settle down and become farmers is that they wanted a reliable grain supply to make beer. There were a lot of nervous titters about that.
