Movie Review- For your consideration

For your consideration is a Christopher guest film which includes a similar ensemble cast that have appeared in some of his other films like Best in Show, Waiting for Guffman, and A Mighty Wind. It is the story of a small independent film called, Home for Purim, in which Oscar buzz develops around the cast and the film. It shows the ways in which the actors change and the ways in which the film changes before and after the Oscar buzz develops. It has a hugely funny cast, but like many of his other films the humor is subtle and dry at times. There is also a lot of humor that surrounds the fact that this is a "Jewish film" and so there are a lot of Yiddish jokes throughout the films. Although some of the cast is the same as other films like Harry Shearer, Eugene Levy, Jennifer Coolidge, and my personal favorite Fred Willard, there are many new faces to Christopher Guest films and each of them are really sublime. This is a really funny and enjoyable film and if you liked any of his other films, you should check out For Your consideration. But I should say that it is not Guest's best film, so if you have never seen a film by him, check out Best in Show or Waiting for Guffman, which are my personal favorites.

I usually like his films but I hated this one with a passion. If I ever meet him I'm going to demand he refund my money spent on this turkey.

I have not seen this one but I want to... I have enjoyed the others.

And you know me- I am down with the yid humor. Maybe Dr. Monkey did not like it because he was farmischt and farblongeon!

Thanks Boxer. I feel like I have not been here in ages... because I have not.

I got the humor Fran, I just didn't think it was funny.

My favorite so far is The Mighty Wind - I even bought the CD! I thought it was a great takeoff on the folk era and the music was great.

I've seen most of Guest's movies and enjoy them all. I like Best in Show a lot too.
